Stan has just had another short story, Mary-Elizabeth, Killing Machine published in the September/October issue of Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine. (Mary-Elizabeth had never thought of herself as a killing machine until the day she ran out of Bernadette’s favorite cat food.)
The magazine is available at your local magazine shop or free on Kindle Unlimited. Stan hopes to be able to publish this story on his blog in November and will let everyone know when that happens.
Congrats, Frank! I am intrigued by the title, and the tease RE the cat food… I’m looking forward to reading it.
How is your summer going? Clearly, you’re writing!
All is well here. Just finished a memoir manuscript for a client; now we’ll need to find him an agent. Also working on a cookbook for a local restaurant that’s in an historic building with a past life as one of the U.S. Life-Saving stations. And, I’m still plugging away on my dog book.
Did I tell you I cowrote a screenplay? A first for me, and a lot of fun. It’s a contemporary dramatic action thriller, set on Martha’s Vineyard. Currently querying producers, directors, management companies, etc., which is what I was told to do. I’ll keep you posted.
Lots of love,
Martha

Hello I am doing a research project on the “Lost Stories” from “Last Dangerous Visions.” Will you be releasing/publishing your story “Halfway There”?

I did some rewrites to “Halfway There” and tried to get Fantasy and Science Fiction to publish it but it was turned down. with the comment something like “Just because Harlan Ellison liked it, doesn’t mean we would like it. If you want to look at it, I can send you a copy of the revised version. Frank Bequaert (pen name Stand Dryer) Fbequaert@gmail.com
